Happy Father’s Day to the young dads, the old dads, the bonus dads, the spiritual dads, angel-baby dads, the Coach dads, mentor dads, daddy-to-be dads….this society has convinced society that your role is not important, going a step further in saying that the male’s significance is irrelevant and they can easily be replaced. Dads, your role and your place in the family, the workplace, in the fabric of our communities and country are vital. Vital’s definition is absolutely necessary. You are absolutely necessary. Thank you for all you do!!

Today we maybe get a day off work, we laugh, visit, share a meal with those we enjoy being with, all the while taking for granted the horrors of war, the excruciating phone calls to a wife or parent stating their loved one will not be coming home to hug, the bravery of each soldier who knew they may die but chose to defend freedom, America, and those of us who call it home. And some didn’t die but wish they would have, for the emotional, mental and physical scars bring a suffering we cannot fathom. Please stop for a moment today, in quiet respect and humble gratitude. Some one died so you didn’t have to.
