Health In Habit

Health In Habit Home Modification Consulting and Health Coaching for Aging In Place At Health In Habit, we believe aging is a journey of growth and fulfillment, not decline.

We challenge the status quo by promoting a positive aging mindset and empowering adults to live with vitality, purpose, and independence. Our mission is to inspire and support the choices that allow people to age with confidence and control. By cultivating lifestyles that prioritize holistic well-being and designing environments that promote health, function, and beauty, we ensure that health and wellbeing are within reach at every stage of life. My name is Aaron Anderson, owner, occupational therapist (OTR/L), and certified aging in place specialist (CAPS). I started Health In Habit to address what I saw missing in traditional care settings. Too often, older adults and their families are given band-aid solutions to long-term challenges like falls, chronic disease, and finding the right living situation and support system. My work as an occupational therapist showed me that we can do better, so I founded Health In Habit to address the root causes behind these challenges and promote a more proactive/positive approach to aging. How do we do this? We offer three core services:

1. Home modification consulting, where we provide home safety assessments, universal design consulting, and project management services to help individuals design a home environment that promotes independence, function, and beauty.

2. Health and Wellness Coaching, focusing on prevention and healthy lifestyle changes based on the six pillars of lifestyle medicine to reduce the risk of falls and prevent chronic conditions through engaging and sustainable habits.

3. Mobile outpatient occupational therapy in the home for those who need the skilled services of an occupational therapist to regain or maximize their independence during activities of daily living in the home and community. Ready for a new and positive approach to aging? Reach out to us today to get started!

Did you know most adults start losing muscle mass in their 30s — and don’t notice until their 60s or 70s?

It’s called sarcopenia — the “silent strength thief.”
You don’t wake up weaker one day…
you just gradually notice:
• It’s harder to stand up or get off of the ground without using your hands
• Stairs feel different
• Balance isn’t quite what it used to be

But here’s the good news:
You can catch this early — and reverse it. Don't ignore early warning signs. Invest in your future self.

The Adult Functional Independence Test (AFIT) screens your strength, balance, posture, flexibility & endurance so you can stay target your priority areas to stay strong & independent.

Join me Nov 19 for the AFIT event for Optimal Aging hosted at Vitality Lifestyle Medicine — your “movement health check-up” to help you age with confidence and control.
