Students at Noble Prentis Elementary recently learned how powerful their brains are thanks to a visit from The Research Foundation's injury prevention program, ThinkFirst Greater Kansas City. 🧠✨

This presentation took place during and allowed students to explore how the brain controls important functions like memory, balance, hearing, and sensation. They also talked about smart choices that help protect the brain and prevent injuries, from wearing helmets to making safe decisions every day.

Our injury prevention programs like ThinkFirst empower kids with knowledge that can help keep them safe for a lifetime. We love seeing these curious minds engaged, asking questions, and learning how to take care of one of their most important organs! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

We're making our roads safer. 🚗💡 Our Young Traffic Offenders Program (YTOP) at Research Medical Center is designed to help young drivers rethink risky behaviors and make safer choices behind the wheel. Through powerful stories and education from health care professionals, crash survivors, and law enforcement, participants gain real-world insight into the consequences of dangerous driving. The goal? To reduce accidents and create a safer community for everyone. Here's what one YTOP attendee said about the class: ⬇️

“This class made me think about other drivers on the road, the families in their cars, and the potential for a tragic accident. I've become more aware of my speed, more patient behind the wheel, and more respectful of the rules of the road.”

Education saves lives and these statements remind us why this program matters.
