Our commitment to kids and families begins even before a baby is born. Alongside our community partners, our Community Baby Shower program celebrates expecting families with fun games, interactive education, as well as important information and support about their baby, including:

· Feeding, bathing and playtime tips.
· Maternal mental health resources.
· Milestones during baby’s first year.
· Health and wellness guidance.

🎒🍎 We’re helping KC families get back to school feeling their best. 🍎🎒 One way we do that is through community initiatives, like the Kansas City Public Schools back-to-school event, held earlier this month.

We helped hundreds of families prepare for the new school year with services like health screenings, injury prevention tips and parenting resources. Real-time interpretation services allowed all Spanish-speaking families to have full access to these great resources.

Earlier this month, our NICU families stepped away from the unit for a few moments of joy at our luau-themed NICU Night Out in our Community Room. Hosted by Children's Mercy staff, volunteers and our friends at Kiewit Corporation, this monthly event offered families a chance to relax, enjoy a meal, make crafts with siblings and connect with others walking a similar journey.

This month’s celebration was extra special as we welcomed 2 of our very own NICU graduates, Birdie and Ian, whose stories remind us why we do what we do. 💙

We had some superstar visitors at Children's Mercy! 🌟⚽️ Huge thanks to Sporting Kansas City’s Jansen Miller and Jacob Bartlett for stopping by to hang out with our amazing patients. Brennan, Zevvy, Emerson, Loyale and others lit up with joy as they chatted, laughed and shared stories with the players. To make things more exciting, the players handed out signed trading cards!

We’re thankful for our friends at , whose visits bring smiles, spark friendships and remind our patients they’re part of a team that believes in them.

We’re bringing pediatric care closer to home for families in Springfield, Mo. 💙

Starting in November, Children’s Mercy and Mercy Springfield Communities Mercy Hospital Springfield are teaming up to deliver a comprehensive pediatric system of care to Springfield and the greater Southwest Missouri region. 🏥

This means more children will have access to nationally ranked specialty care, groundbreaking research and compassionate services right in their own community.

From tiny first steps to big dreams, we’re here for it all. And now, we’re growing alongside the families we serve.
