Meet Kara — one of the incredible founding members of OTF Woodlake! 🍊

After stepping away to welcome her daughter in November, Kara couldn’t wait to get back under the orange lights. When she heard Woodlake was opening, she jumped at the chance to return to the workouts, the coaches, and the community she missed so much.

Kicking off September with our member spotlight, Amanda!! 🧡✨

🍂What inspired you to start at OTF?
I was coming off an extended period of time with a back injury right after having my son and was looking for something that could get me back into a healthy fitness routine. I had a few friends who absolutely swore by it that persuaded me to give it a shot.

🍂What do you love about OTF?
I love that it can be a completely individualized experience while still getting the camaraderie of group classes and active coaching.

🍂What’s your favorite workout day/type?
I’m on a pretty regular Monday Tread class and Wednesday Strength class rotation with the occasional weekend 2G thrown in when the schedule allows. I play sand volleyball and indoor soccer every week as well.

🍂What is your biggest accomplishment since starting OTF?
I finished the Hospital Hill 5K in June well under my goal time after having to skip it last summer because of my back injury.

🍂Favorite quote or motto?
“I can do anything for 30 more seconds.” 🤣

🍂Fun Fact!
I grew up in Michigan and originally moved to KC for a job as a weather producer for a local TV station. I don’t do that anymore but it definitely was an interesting experience and contrary to running jokes, meteorologists are right a vast majority of the time. 🙂
