Understanding how the things we experience impacts the brain can be really hard to comprehend. In my own journey I have wrestled with better understanding my own triggers, reactions, and responses to the world around me. A book that greatly helped me get why I behave the way I behave is called "Trauma is Really Strange" by Steve Haines. If you're curious about your own trauma experiences, I'd recommend picking up this book!
