James W Bogener, M.D. Dr. Bogener is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle health.

Dr. Bogener completed a combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2005. He chose to stay at UMKC to do his residency, which he completed in 2010. Dr. Bogener then did a foot and ankle fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX under the direction of Dr. James Brodsky. Dr. Bogener is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is affi

liated with University Orthopaedics Kansas City. He practices general orthopedics and has a sub-specialty interest in foot and ankle surgery, including sports medicine and total ankle replacement. Dr. Bogener also serves as the Associate Program Director for the UMKC Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. His research interests include resident education and medical simulation. Dr. Bogener is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Mid-Central States Orthopaedic Society, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, Missouri State Orthopaedic Association, and is an emerging leader in the American Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Bogener resides in Parkville with his wife Megan and their three children. In addition to spending time with his family, he also enjoys the Kansas City Symphony, has an interest in steam locomotives and antique cars, and is a Kansas City Chiefs season ticket member.
