We were so grateful to welcome Professor Shannon Silvestri and her Product Design students from the Kansas City Art Institute to visit us here at Ashton on the Plaza! Our residents enjoyed sharing their experiences and insights as the students work on designing furniture for an aging population. It was such a meaningful opportunity for our community to help inspire thoughtful, inclusive design for the future. Thank you for spending time with us and for valuing the voices and experiences of our residents!

We had such a fantastic time at Char Bar in Westport! We were treated to an afternoon full of incredible BBQ, great atmosphere, and even better hospitality.

The staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome and taken care of — we are so grateful! And the BBQ? Absolutely amazing.

Thank you, Char Bar, for such a memorable visit! We can’t wait to come back!

We are so grateful for the KC Streetcar!

The Plaza stop is right across the street from our building, making it incredibly convenient for our residents to ride the rails! As a free service that’s accessible to everyone, it truly opens up so much of Kansas City — from dining and shopping to museums, entertainment, and special events.

We love having such easy access to everything our amazing city has to offer. Thank you for helping keep our community connected!

What an amazing day for The Ashton on the Plaza! We had the pleasure of visiting the Blue Room Jazz Club, and the American Jazz Museum—and it was truly unforgettable.

The music was outstanding, the laughter was nonstop, and yes… there was even some dancing! The venue was accessible to all, making it easy for everyone to join in the fun. We enjoyed every single minute.

We’re so excited about our partnership with the Kansas City Public Library! ✨📚

The Kansas City Public Library is bringing their Lobby Stop Services directly to The Ashton On The Plaza, making reading and library resources easy, convenient, and accessible to everyone. This FREE service delivers books and materials right to our residents—no travel required!

Library staff will visit on the first and third Monday of each month at 11:15 AM, helping residents sign up, request materials, and enjoy all the benefits the library has to offer.

We’re so excited to offer this wonderful, inclusive resource to our community and make lifelong learning and reading available to all! 📖💙

We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Kansas City Ballet, bringing a joyful and meaningful dance experience to our community! This special 1-hour class is taught by Kara Davis, professional ballet dancer and Instructor of Dance at UMKC.

Designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s, the class is fun, easygoing, and welcoming, using gentle dance movements to support balance, coordination, memory, and flexibility—all while sharing smiles and music along the way.

We’re so proud to offer programming that nurtures movement, connection, and confidence. Thank you to the Kansas City Ballet and Kara Davis for helping our residents keep moving with grace and joy! 💜✨

What a truly special day out for The Ashton on the Plaza! 🖼️✨

Our residents enjoyed an inspiring visit to the beautiful Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, surrounded by incredible architecture and world-class artwork. What made the experience especially meaningful was the opportunity to meet Julián Zugazagoitia, Director & CEO of the museum, along with Matt Richards, Development Manager. Their warm welcome and generosity made our visit unforgettable.

Moments like these—filled with art, conversation, and connection—are what make life at The Ashton on the Plaza so enriching. We are incredibly grateful to the Nelson-Atkins Museum for opening their doors and making our residents feel so valued. 💙🎨

Cheers to the New Year, everyone! 🥂 From all of us at The Ashton on the Plaza, we wish you a year filled with nothing but joy, love, and good health! We rang in the New Year a bit earlier than midnight but celebrated still the same. Had our countdown, toast to 2026, live entertainment, great food by our culinary department, and of course sang Auld Lang Syne together. We love celebrating together as one big Ashton family!
