Road food doesn't need to knock your health off balance!

My group "Women Seeking Balance" recently finished up their spring cleanse.

Although I've been doing cleansing for over 10 years, the first for me was leading (and participating) in the cleanse while I was on the road.

I had lots of learning moments and upon reflection, I found the prep work before I left very helpful. I didn't want to take cumbersome kitchen equipment in my camper so I spent a few hours before leaving to batch prep some excellent choices. I loved this practice so much so that I'm carrying that forward to future road trips.

I leave tomorrow and here are two of my favorite things that are ready to go:
Vibrant Green Juice 🍋🥬🫚🍏🥒
Raspberry Chia Pudding🥣

(The almond butter is a topper for the pudding and the Macadamia "milk" is used to make the chia pudding.)

Also, I love White Mountain yogurt. Especially the fact it comes in a reusable glass jar ❤️🫙

When life gets busy, I find I crave the stillness of the morning hours. The world is just waking up and I could easily miss it if I too engaged in the rush, rush, rush that everyone leans into.

Wispy cloud movement, coffee in a favorite mug, and intoxicating apple blossoms. My center of gravity. My balance.

On a recent trip south, I had a stop off in Renfro Valley Kentucky. What a joy. Traveling from waterlogged Wisconsin, the delightful signs of spring were a very welcomed sight. Happy Earth Day to all the creatures great and small.

Sometimes it’s not one big thing… just a quiet sense that something feels off.

You’re more tired than usual.
Digestion isn’t quite right.
Little things feel bigger than they should.
There’s a low level of overwhelm running in the background.

It’s easy to push past it or try to power through.

But often, this is your body asking for a reset. Not something extreme—just a return to simple, steady support.

If you’ve been feeling this way, you’re not alone. There’s a way to come back to center.

If you’d like support in that, I’m guiding a gentle reset, we start next week. You can take a look and see if it feels like a fit for you. (Links in the bio.)

Here in SE Wisconsin, it’s been raining all day, with more to come. It's wet, cold, heavy… and you can feel it.

Not just outside, but in your body and your mood too. A little slower. A little heavier. Maybe even a bit “blah.”

We don’t always connect the two, but the weather affects us more than we realize.

In Ayurveda, this seasonal shift—ritusandhi—is known as a time when things feel unsettled. The body is adjusting, and so is the mind.

This is where simple support matters.

Warm, spiced tea. Grounding foods. Slowing things down just a bit.

Nothing extreme. Just meeting the moment you’re in.

This is exactly the kind of support we focus on in our Ayurvedic cleanse - meeting where you are. Supporting you in the moment.

When I say “cleanse,” this is what I mean.

Real food. Warm, simple meals that are easy to digest and give the body a bit of a break.

Not powders. Not restriction. Not pushing through something hard.

Most of the time, it looks like this… slowing things down, eating in a more supportive way, and letting the body reset without stress.

It’s simple, but that’s what makes it effective.

Doing it alone is where things fall apart.

I learned that the hard way.

Even with the best intentions, when you’re doing something like a cleanse on your own, you only know what you know. There’s no feedback, no guidance, no one to help you adjust when something feels off.

So you second guess. You push through. Or you stop altogether.

This is true in so many areas of life, but especially when it comes to your body.

Support doesn’t make things complicated—it actually makes them simpler.

This is the kind of meal I come back to when my body feels off: stewed cinnamon apples. 🍎

Nothing extreme. Nothing complicated.

Just simple, warm, easy-to-digest food that gives the body a bit of a break.

Most people think a “cleanse” means powders, restriction, or trying to push through something hard.

But in practice, it often looks more like this. Slowing things down.

Eating in a way that’s easier on digestion. Letting the body catch up.

It’s simple… but that’s where the shift happens.

Lately I’ve been noticing how many women are walking around feeling just a little (ok maybe A LOT)… off. Tired, even when they’re getting rest. A little uncomfortable in their body. Easier to irritate. More overwhelmed than usual.

And the first thought is often, “I should do something.” Something stricter. Cleaner. More controlled.

But what if your body isn’t asking for more effort?

What if it’s asking for less… less complexity, less pressure, less pushing.

Sometimes a reset isn’t about doing something extreme. It’s about coming back to simple, steady, supportive rhythms.

Just something to notice.

Nature tells us what’s coming. Even with several of inches on the ground, the sunshine and birds are saying “it’s spring!!!!”
