Posted this last Valentine’s Day and it still holds true today…

Like most calendar holidays, Valentine’s Day is an over romanticized day in which the true definition of love is overlooked by flowers, jewelry, candy and expectations. Don’t get me wrong: I do love my gummy candy, but I can’t help to ask the question, “What does love mean to you?” It’s not lust, or passion, s*x or desire, it’s messy, and sometimes painful. It requires sacrifices and compromises. I don’t know if those I’ve shared my life with truly ever loved me, but I do know this: I’ve experienced two great loves in my life and I dedicate this poem to them both…”Grandmothers”
