✨ Testosterone: the missing piece for many women ✨

At Honor Your Body, we regulate all your hormones to optimal levels. It usually takes a few months of testosterone replacement to get levels into the upper end of normal (around 50–60), that’s when most of patients tell me:

👉 “Bekah, I am back! finally feel like myself again.”

💥 Most patients notice:
• Improved energy & stamina
• Clearer thinking, less brain fog
• Easier muscle formation & strength gains
• Better motivation & mood
• And Yes—increased libido

✨ Testosterone is a human hormone. Women have receptors all over our bodies- including the brain, muscles, bones and cardiovascular system.

Replacement therapy is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why I work very closely with my patients to find the right dose—one that supports energy, mood, metabolism, strength, and overall well-being, while minimizing unwanted side effects like acne, hair thinning, or excess hair growth.

Precision dosing is done slowly and strategically using informed decision making.
💉 Forms of testosterone therapy include:
• SubQ injections
• Pellets
• Creams (✨ my favorite ✨ for flexibility, titration, and patient comfort)

Every woman is different. Dosing, delivery, and timing matter—and labs + symptoms always guide the plan.

If you’ve optimized estrogen and progesterone but still don’t feel quite right, testosterone may be the final puzzle piece. 💛

What are body reflections in the Power of 30 Challenge?

They are just two simple questions you answer each day. Should only take a minute.

1. What am I grateful my body can do?
2. What did my body allow me to experience today?

At first, it may be hard. Many struggle to find the good in their bodies.
With practice it gets easier, and slowly the way they perceive their bodies changes. They see the good because they've looked everyday for months.

They recognize that their body is a tool that allows them to experience life instead of an object to be perfected because everyday they've recognized how their body allowed them to experience joyful moments.

Then they see others as more than a body. This ripple effect is life changing, empowering, and something I want for everyone. To see and be seen as more than a body.

It's not too late to join the power of 30 Challenge! Start this along with other health promoting habits. It's Free and it's amazing!

When Christmas Feels Anything But Merry & Bright 🎁🎄

And moms often take the brunt of the preparations to make the holidays magical.

And while the holiday may be over, the physiologic stress response often lingers.

At Honor Your Body, we frequently see peri- and menopausal women experience:
• disrupted sleep
• increased anxiety or irritability
• bloating and inflammation
• fatigue paired with a “wired but tired” feeling

These symptoms often correlate with elevated cortisol and inflammatory markers on lab work.

Hormonal transitions alone can increase stress sensitivity — but the mental, emotional, and physical demands of the holidays can act as an aggravator, pushing an already taxed nervous system into overdrive.

As a nurse practitioner, here are evidence-based strategies I consistently see help patients regulate cortisol after high-stress seasons 👇

🌞 Morning sunlight exposure (5–10 minutes outdoors)
🚶‍♀️ Low-intensity movement (walks, mobility, gentle strength)
🧘‍♀️ Mindfulness or breathwork (even a few minutes matters)
🌙 Consistent bedtime routines (same timing, calming cues)

🩺 Hormonal support matters
For appropriately selected patients, oral micronized progesterone taken ~30 minutes before bed can significantly improve sleep quality, calm nighttime anxiety, and support cortisol regulation.

Nutrients and compounds commonly used to support the stress response include:
• L-theanine
• Ashwagandha
• Magnesium glycinate
• Phosphatidylserine
• Rhodiola
• Magnolia bark

These compounds support GABA signaling, HPA-axis regulation, and nighttime cortisol suppression, and should always be individualized.

🧪 Labs that often reflect stress & inflammation include:
• hs-CRP/ ESR
• Fasting insulin
• Ferritin
• Cortisol
• Hemoglobin A1C

These markers don’t exist in isolation — they tell a story when viewed alongside symptoms.

✨ The goal isn’t to “bounce back” from Christmas.
✨ It’s to support a nervous system that’s already been carrying a lot.

Your body isn’t failing you — it’s responding.
And it deserves care. 🤍

Em stopped running with our group as much because of her chronic hip pain.

She did all the “right” things—imaging, physical therapy, anti-inflammatories, rest. Still hurting.

What was missing wasn’t effort or discipline—it was estrogen.

Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Menopause is a hormone-driven condition where low estrogen affects tendons, ligaments, muscle, fascia, and joints. The tissue looks normal on imaging but loses its ability to repair and recover.

Once we addressed hormone deficiencies and combined that with smart training and recovery, everything changed.

Not perfect—but dramatically better.

If you’re a midlife woman with persistent pain that won’t resolve, don’t stop at the joint. Look at the hormones.

Progesterone in Perimenopause & Menopause 🤍

At Honor Your Body, we are peri- and menopause experts guiding women through this transition with clarity, confidence, and compassionate care.

Progesterone is often the first hormone to decline in perimenopause — and its effects are felt throughout the body.

Progesterone plays an essential role in:
• Sleep – supports deep, restorative rest
• Stress response – helps calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety
• Brain health – supports mood, focus, and emotional regulation
• Bone health – helps stimulate new bone formation
• Fluid balance – supports healthy fluid regulation and helps reduce bloating

When progesterone levels decline, symptoms such as poor sleep, increased stress, brain fog, fluid retention, and mood changes are common. These changes are physiologic, not a personal failure.

At Honor Your Body, our experienced, multidisciplinary team evaluates both symptoms and labs to guide individualized, safe, and effective hormone support through perimenopause and menopause.

You don’t have to navigate this stage alone.
We’re here to help you move through it well-supported and informed.
