The men of Eagle Creek would like to give a big thank you to the friends and donors that supplied them with crawfish today. These moments of godly fellowship are the moments that heal and they are an integral part of the recovery process.

As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.

Through Christ, we can overcome any addiction and find true freedom. As it says in Philippians 4:13, 'I can do all things through him who strengthens me.' Let us lean on His strength and trust in His power as we journey towards recovery.

It’s true that our freedom allows us to do anything, but that doesn’t mean that everything we do is good for us. I’m free to do as I choose, but I choose to never be enslaved to anything.
1 Corinthians 6:12 TPT

As ex-addicts we have to modify the way we live our lives. We have to be careful not to fall back into old habits with new things. Just because you were once addicted to pills does not mean you should instead drink a beer. You might find yourself thinking, "I never had a problem with alcohol, only pills. I can have a drink once in a while.". You will soon find yourself back on pills and adding alcohol to the list of addictions.

There are more substances just like alcohol that continue to find their way into our daily lives. They all lead to the same road you left behind. I urge you to grab onto what Paul is saying here. In short, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. No one is going to force change on you. You can choose to lay hold of the gospel and walk in freedom or you can choose to be enslaved.

Whatever you keep from God will bring you away from him. Give everything to him. Ensure that everything you do brings you closer to him. For all of us in recovery, it is a lifelong process that we must choose daily. We are all one bad day away from falling into old habits. Lean on Jesus and he will give you the strength to continue on.

For anyone struggling today, we at Eagle Creek are always available to help and encourage. You can contact us anytime, our contact information can be found on our about page.

At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bo***ge of our past.
Galatians 5:1 TPT

Addiction can feel like a never-ending cycle, but with faith in God and the guidance of His word, we can break free from its grasp.
