COLON CANCER UPDATE:

Celebrating 3 years of being cancer free!!

I have always been a big believer in exercise but now there's a formal prospective study that proves it! A trial that included 889 patients who were in remission from colon cancer after chemotherapy put some patients in a formal exercise program and others just received health education. The 5 year disease free survival was 80.3% in the exercise group and 73.9% in the health education group. The 8 year disease free survival rate was 90.3% in the exercise group and 83.2% in the health education group. My oncologist states this was a bigger effect than additional chemotherapy might give!!

This is extra motivation for me when I don't feel like getting up at 5 to work out!!
