✨ Let’s talk about something no one prepares you for…
👉 that first (and honestly, first few) trips to the bathroom after birth or surgery. Emptying your bladder and having an easy bowel movement after these can be a challenge for many.

If you’ve ever felt anxious, tense, or even scared to go—you are so not alone. And more importantly… it doesn’t have to feel that way. 🤍

This month is Endometriosis Awareness Month, and while we’re always talking about postpartum healing, these gentle, holistic tools can make a huge difference after surgeries like endometriosis excision, hysterectomy, or myomectomy, too.

Because here’s the truth:
Your body deserves support, not stress—especially during healing.

Think:
🌿 Creating a calm, supported environment
🌿 Working with your breath instead of pushing
🌿 Supporting your nervous system so your body can actually let go
🌿 Giving your tissues time, space, and nourishment to heal

These small shifts? They add up to a completely different experience in the bathroom.

And if you’re still struggling with pain, straining, or fear around bowel movements after birth or surgery—please don’t brush it off. That’s your body asking for support, and pelvic floor therapy can help you reconnect, retrain, and restore function in a way that feels safe and sustainable.

You don’t have to just “get through it.”
There is a better, more supported way. 💛

✨ Save this for later & share with a friend who needs this kind of support.

Most people think pelvic floor therapy = Kegels.

But that’s like saying going to physical therapy for a knee injury means only doing squats.

The pelvic floor is connected to your:

✨ core
✨ breathing
✨ hips and back
✨ nervous system
✨ posture
✨ daily movement patterns

Which means real pelvic floor therapy often includes:

• breathwork
• core coordination
• mobility + strength work
• nervous system regulation
• lifestyle and movement education

And most of the time… less Kegels, not more.

At West Pelvic Wellness, our care goes far beyond quick fixes — because moms deserve real solutions for leaking, pain, prolapse, and core recovery.

✨ Meet the newest member of the West Pelvic Wellness team — Alexis! ✨

If you call, text, or email our clinic, there’s a very good chance Alexis will be the friendly voice helping you get scheduled, answering your questions, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. And trust us… she is already making our lives so much easier. 🙌

At West Pelvic Wellness, we’re proud to be a woman-owned and operated clinic, built by moms and women who deeply understand how important it is to feel heard, supported, and cared for in your health journey. Our small team means that when you walk through our doors, you’re not just another appointment on a schedule — you’re part of a community. And Alexis helps make that experience seamless from the very first interaction.

A little about Alexis:

Alexis is a certified and licensed athletic trainer with a passion for helping people live healthier lives. She was born and raised in Kansas and has called the Houston area home for the past three years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Kansas and her Master of Science in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Applied Exercise Science from Oklahoma State University, where she worked with cross country, track and field, and softball athletes.

Her professional background includes collegiate athletics and working in the industrial setting with Amazon — but what truly drives her is a belief in holistic, whole-body health. Through both her career and personal health experiences, Alexis believes in addressing root causes, not just symptoms, which is exactly the philosophy we live by at West Pelvic Wellness.

When she’s not keeping our clinic running smoothly, you’ll likely find her enjoying an iced latte, spending time with her two dogs and fiancé, reading across all kinds of book genres, or exploring anything food-related. ☕📚🐾

We are so lucky to have Alexis as part of our team and can’t wait for you to meet her!

Pregnancy brings incredible changes — and for many moms, some of those lead to real discomfort or pain.
Pelvic floor physical therapy during pregnancy isn’t just preventative care — it’s active support for symptoms you may already be experiencing.

Pregnancy PFPT can help relieve pelvic pain, p***c bone pain, tailbone pain, leaking, and pressure while also preparing your body for labor and postpartum recovery.

At West Pelvic Wellness, we take a whole-body, proactive approach to pregnancy care and getting prepared for postpartum. We look at how your pelvic floor, core, breath, hips, and nervous system work together — because that’s what actually creates relief and resilience.

💛 Our Prenatal+Postpartum Basic Package includes one 90 minute Birth Prep session, a 60 minute in home postpartum check in and a 60 minute in office follow up. This is perfect for the mom who wants a head start on postpartum healing.
✨ The Prenatal+ Postpartum Advanced Package includes additional sessions for deeper hands-on work for guidance in every trimester as your growing body changes. It also includes more support for holistic maternal health through a virtual nutrition consult with and a virtual Thrive in Motherhood Consult with Taylor .mom.and.sex.therapist

Comment SUPPORT and we’ll help you find the right level of care for your pregnancy.
