I’ve seen patients delay care because the pain didn’t feel “bad enough,” and that delay can make all the difference. When it comes to your heart, uncertainty is not something to ignore. It’s something to evaluate.

If something feels off, trust your instincts and get checked. It’s always better to be reassured early than to treat complications later.

In this day and age, it’s completely normal to see your results pop up in the patient portal before your doctor has had a chance to review them and I understand how tempting it is to start googling and asking ChatGPT about every term you don’t recognize.

But take a breath. What may look concerning online can be completely normal when interpreted in the context of your medical history, symptoms, and overall health.

Give your doctor the time to review your results and guide you with a clear, personalized plan.

This video is for educational purposes only and isn’t medical advice. Always speak with your physician about your results.

I see Fatty Liver often in patients with insulin resistance, weight concerns, or diabetes, and the earlier we address it, the more reversible it is. Once it progresses to advanced scarring, the options become limited.

The good news is that with the right medical guidance and consistent lifestyle changes, your liver health can improve significantly.

If you’ve been told you have fatty liver or you’re at risk, let’s take a proactive approach to protect your long-term health.

4 Myths i debunked in clinic today

1. “I need to weigh myself every single day.”
Daily weight fluctuates because of water retention, sodium intake, hormones, and even sleep — not just fat. When you attach emotion to normal physiologic shifts, you create frustration that has nothing to do with progress.

2. “It’s safe to just eat one meal a day.”
For most people, extreme restriction backfires. Your body is intelligent. Severe calorie cuts can slow metabolic rate, increase hunger hormones, and make rebound overeating more likely. That’s not lack of discipline — that’s biology.

3. “I just need more willpower.”
If willpower were the answer, sustainable weight loss would be simple. But hormones, insulin resistance, sleep quality, stress, medications, and genetics all influence weight regulation.

Real, lasting weight loss happens when you address physiology not just calories.

Intertrigo is something I see often in patients and here’s what I tell them:

1. Keep the area clean, dry, and cool. After showering, gently pat — don’t rub — the area dry.

2. You can use a hairdryer on a cool setting to remove moisture.

3. Wear loose, breathable fabrics like cotton.
4. A mild antiperspirant in certain areas can help reduce sweating.
5. If you’re using a medicated ointment, avoid layering powders on top unless directed because that combination can worsen irritation.

But if the rash is painful, spreading, has an odor, or keeps coming back, it may need prescription treatment. Let’s address it properly and comfortably.

Ladies, let me be clear. Your body isn’t being dramatic.

Severe cramps that stop you from working, pads overflowing in an hour, constant exhaustion, needing multiple cups of coffee just to survive, loud snoring, or unexplained weight gain
None of these are normal. They’re your body’s way of saying, “Hey, check me out before this gets worse.”

I see this all the time in clinic, women dismissing signals that deserve attention. Early evaluation often means simple solutions instead of bigger problems later.
Listen to your body. Don’t wait. Let’s figure this out together.

GLP-1 medications were approved for obesity treatment alongside healthy lifestyle habits, not as a replacement for them.

The goal is not just to be thin. The goal is metabolic health, longevity, and aging gracefully.

At Macie Medical, we focus on comprehensive, physician-supervised obesity management that supports long-term success.

High blood sugar rarely announces itself loudly at first. It creeps in slowly.

The constant thirst you can’t satisfy.
The bathroom trips that interrupt your sleep.
The exhaustion that no amount of rest fixes.
The blurry vision you keep blaming on “screen time.”
The infections that keep coming back.

These are not random inconveniences. They are physiologic signals that your body may be struggling with insulin resistance.

If this feels familiar, listen to your body. It may be asking for help. Book an Appointment at Macie Medical.
