When I was growing up, I always knew that daddy was much older than me and would go to heaven before me. This was no secret, and he spoke of it often to prepare me- as I do to my triplets (we were born 42..) Many people visit the graves of their loved ones on the day that they died. I know that this is a common practice and my heart goes out to everyone that have lost loved ones. One day I asked daddy, “how do you want me to take care of your funeral? Daddy I don’t know if I can.” Daddy replied, “don’t worry about my funeral or the day that I go home, but be sure to celebrate my life with every accomplishment that you make in yours.” Today would’ve been his birthday and I celebrated by visiting someone who is around his age in 2012.. Every year, I can feel him smiling on his birthday because I wake up and dedicate the day to him then I go out to achieve something great. This year it is in the form of doing something good for someone else. I am going to be “A Hug Away” more today than I was yesterday…
