3 Ways to Find Peace in 2023
Forgive - The resentment and anger we carry for others is a burden that weighs us down. Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping someone else suffers. Forgiving means giving up dwelling on, obsessing about and ruminating over the injustice done to you. It means no longer treating the person who wronged you with contempt or hatred. It doesn’t mean you are ok with what happened, it just means you are giving up punishing the other for what they have done. Forgive others as you have been forgiven.
Be Present - Suspend your worry over things beyond your control for the week. Listen attentively. Notice others. Express care. Breathe deep. Play games. Laugh. Forget the past and it’s regrets and reminders. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Serve - Do small things for your loved ones daily. The greatest relationships are built on the back of small things. A cup of coffee poured. A cookie shared. A dish rinsed. A compliment not only thought but spoken. A hug for no reason. One of life’s great mysteries is that the more we pour out for others the more we are filled. In humility, consider others as better than yourself.
