We had a great time at the 11th Annual Jensen Jubilee! Our UT Physicians Multispecialty – Jensen clinic was proud to join the celebration, spreading health and wellness through fun, hands-on activities, and valuable educational resources. From learning about preventive care to connecting with our care team, community members discovered new ways to take charge of their health.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to support and care for our neighbors in the Jensen area. 💙

Our physicians and staff are thinking pink for National Mammography Day, highlighting the importance of regular breast cancer screenings. 💗

Across our clinics, team members proudly came together wearing pink to show their support for patients, survivors, and families affected by breast cancer. Their efforts serve as a powerful reminder of how early detection can save lives. 🎗️

Are you ready for flu season? Before you reach for the latest “immune-boosting” supplement or trendy remedy, think again.

According to Christopher Codispoti, MD, PhD, an allergy and immunology specialist with UT Physicians, your best defense might be simpler than you think, and it starts with a few everyday habits you might be overlooking!

From quality sleep to balanced nutrition and stress management, these basics do more for your immune system than any quick fix ever could.

“It’s important to have the building blocks in place to support any kind of infection that comes your way, so your immune system is balanced,” Codispoti said.

Click the link in the comments to explore the science behind these everyday habits and why skipping them could leave you vulnerable this flu season.

From childhood dreams of being a rock star to teaching music and inspiring others, Mike Mason’s life has always had a melody. But behind the rhythm, he battled a condition that drained his energy, disrupted his sleep, and muted life’s simplest joys.

Living with a deviated septum left Mike struggling to breathe, turning everyday moments into exhausting challenges. After years of coping, he turned to Amber U. Luong, MD, PhD, an otorhinolaryngology specialist with UT Physicians, for help and found relief beyond anything he expected.

Her expert care not only restored his breathing and renewed his energy but also unlocked a surprising change that elevated his passion for music to new heights. Now, he encourages others not to wait to get the care they need.

“[Dr. Luong] presented the options to me and let me choose what was best for me. She very much met me where I was,” Mike said.

What if the secret to a longer life isn’t in your medicine cabinet, but in your attitude? Research shows that people with an optimistic outlook live up to 15% longer than those who focus on the negative. ✨

Optimism isn’t about ignoring life’s struggles. It’s about believing you can work through them. From better heart health to sharper brain function, the benefits go far beyond thinking positively. 💡

“If people are finding they're more pessimistic, there are things they can do to help build that optimism,” said Cindy Woolverton, PhD, an assistant professor in the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

A playful swing or quick lift could leave your toddler in severe pain and refusing to move their arm. 😢

This isn’t rare. It’s called nursemaid’s elbow, or radial head subluxation, a common childhood injury that happens in the blink of an eye. There’s usually no swelling or bruising, but inside, a tiny bone has slipped out of place. 🦴

The good news? Doctors say treatment is usually quick, gentle, and kids often bounce back within minutes. But knowing the signs and how to respond can make all the difference. 🚨

“Young kids have looser ligaments, so there’s more play in the system,” said Brennan Roper, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at UT Physicians. “It takes just a perfect kind of pull or a perfect vector of force — usually accidental — to pull the radial head out of place.”
