A Comprehensive Parent Training Approach!
CLINIC MEETING TIMELINE
Clinic Meetings are structured, two-hour sessions that focus on the child’s individual progress and programming. These meetings include parent updates, review of data and behavior graphs, observation of priority programs, discussion of new goals, and planning next steps.
Total Duration: 2 Hours
15 Minutes | Parent Updates
Parents share updates on how the client is currently doing in the home- outside environments
Review progress, concerns, and observations from home and community settings
15 Minutes | Program & Data Review
Review prior programs
Discuss behavior graphs and data trends
Answer parent questions related to progress and outcomes. (Review of Bx - and alignment with replacement and adaptive skills.)
1-hour | Client Participation & Program Implementation
Client joins the meeting
Team runs current priority programs
Parents observe teaching strategies and flexible prompting procedures
Optional: 30-minute client in meeting and running programs/ observation in the clients room/ generalization rotations.
15 minutes New Priority Programs and dismiss parents
Review new or updated priority programs
Discuss goals to be targeted between now and the next parent training session
Align expectations for program implemented by parents
Meeting wrap-up
15 minutes-Supervisor responsibilities
Supervisors complete session notes, updates, etc.
PARENT EDUCATION TIMELINE
Parent Education Meetings are one-hour sessions focused on helping parents and caregivers better understand autism spectrum disorders and Applied Behavior Analysis. These meetings provide education on how to learn why certain behaviors occur, and the strategies used in ABA to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. The goal is to build caregiver knowledge and understanding so families can better support their child. You may be assigned homework such as outside readings, data collection or programming.
Total Duration: 1 Hour
10 Minutes | Parent Questions & Concerns
Review parent questions
Address immediate concerns or clarifications
35 Minutes | Parent Education Instruction
Provide parent education on selected topics (e.g., behavior strategies, prompting, reinforcement, generalization)
Model strategies and discuss application
10 Minutes | Client Participation
Client joins the session
*May run priority programs if time permits, or if modeling is needed for parent implementation.
5 Minutes | Closing & Next Steps

Discuss next steps
One-Hour Telehealth Parent Training
A one-hour telehealth parent training session is a scheduled, telehealth meeting. This meeting is for urgent needs, emergencies, or situations where immediate guidance is needed that is within our scope of practice. During the meeting, we will review current concerns, strategies to use, and behavioral support needed at home. We will do our best to schedule these sessions as soon as possible; however, availability will be based on our supervisor's schedules.
