A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease (also known as gum disease) and in the placement of dental implants. Three additional years of training is required to receive a certificate of periodontics. Dr Jensen received his additional education at the University of Nebraska. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
