Wild Fern Essence ~ Pua'aehuehu
Edible hydrosols are created by resourcing native Hawaiian ferns from Maui and Kaua'i islands. Ferns are vascular extent species which are self reproducing by way of spores. Their vascular bodies allow them to secrete oils. Some ferns are incredibly fragrant, while others are more conservative. The creation process for medical tinctures, oils, and mists are done via fermentation, steam distillation, or enfleurage. The steam distillation process is used with sacred Wailuku River water. Ancient Hawaiians believed native Hawaiian ferns to hold the codes to human emotions. There are 103 native ferns which correlate to 103 human emotions, virtues, and traits which we call "the principles of Aloha."
The intelligence of the fern is beyond our comprehension, but collaborating with them through mists, oils, and tinctures will surely broaden our own understanding and expression of our true emotions!
