Did you know why Spam Musubi is so popular in Hawaii? 🌺

Spam musubi is more than a snack, it’s a piece of island history. Inspired by Japanese onigiri, it became popular after World War II when Spam was widely available in Hawaii. It is a fusion of Japanese and American influences, reflecting the diverse history and culture of Hawaii. Rice shaped to fit grilled Spam, wrapped in nori, and made to be filling and easy. Today, it’s everywhere, from beach days to food trucks.

Kulaniapia Falls is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from the farm, making it a perfect day trip while you’re staying with us. It’s on the Hilo side of the Big Island, tucked into a lush, private nature reserve just outside town.

A tall, multi tiered waterfall pours into a deep swimming pool, surrounded by green cliffs and quiet jungle energy. It’s known for peaceful swims, slow moments, and that grounded feeling you get when nature holds you for a while.

Very much a hidden gem kind of place. Perfect for a gentle adventure and a nature reset. 💧🌱
