🚨 Training for the Unexpected 🌊

Members of Keansburg Emergency Medical Services recently completed Flood Rescue Awareness training to further expand their skills and preparedness for water-related emergencies.

With severe weather and flooding events becoming more common, our members are committed to staying ready, ensuring we can respond quickly, safely, and effectively when our community needs us most.

A big thank you to Instructor Francis Charles for an outstanding class and for sharing his knowledge and experience with our members.

We are proud of our team for continuing to train and improve every day.

🚨 Life-Saving Recognition 🚨

We are proud to share that members of our department alongside the Keansburg Police Department and several residents from the area were recognized for their actions during a recent structure fire where multiple lives were saved.

Our crews responded quickly, assisting with the removal of occupants from the home and immediately initiating patient care under extremely challenging conditions. From rescue to treatment and coordination of transport, our members played a critical role in the outcome of this incident.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Keansburg for recognizing the efforts of our members. Your support of emergency services and acknowledgment of our work means a great deal to our department.

We also thank our partner agencies for their teamwork during this incident. When everyone works together, lives are saved.

Please join us in congratulating all members involved for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to our community. πŸ‘

🚫 Do NOT call 911 or your local police for power outages or updates. They know just as much as you and do not control the power.

911 is for life-threatening emergencies only so we can keep crews available for critical calls during the storm.

πŸš¨β„οΈ STORM SAFETY MESSAGE FROM KEANSBURG EMS β„οΈπŸš¨

With significant snowfall impacting our area, we are asking the public to please use good judgment before calling 911.

Our crews will respond to all emergencies, but hazardous road conditions put responders at serious risk.

πŸš‘ Please call 911 ONLY for TRUE, LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCIES such as:

β€’ Chest pain or difficulty breathing
β€’ Stroke symptoms
β€’ Severe injuries
β€’ Uncontrolled bleeding
β€’ Loss of consciousness
β€’ Serious medical emergencies

⚠️ During extreme weather, non-urgent calls can delay response to someone whose life truly depends on immediate care β€” and they place our volunteer crews in unnecessary danger on unsafe roadways.

If your situation is not life-threatening, please consider waiting until road conditions improve or contacting your primary care provider.
Our members leave their families and drive in dangerous conditions to serve this community. Help us keep them safe so they can continue helping others.

❄️ Stay off the roads.
❄️ Check on elderly neighbors.
❄️ Keep hydrants and walkways clear.

❀️Happy Valentine’s Day from Keansburg EMS! ❀️

Today is all about love, and here in Keansburg, that love shows up in more ways than flowers and chocolate.

It shows up at 3AM when someone calls 911.
It shows up during snowstorms, heat waves, and holidays.

It shows up 1,877 times a year, because that’s how many calls your Keansburg EMS volunteers answered in 2025.

Love isn’t just a word to us.
It’s service.
It’s commitment.
It’s neighbors helping neighbors.

Whether it’s a lift assist, a child with a fever, a cardiac emergency, or simply someone who needs reassurance, we’re proud to be there for our community when it matters most.

To the residents of Keansburg:

Thank you for your continued support, your kindness, and your trust. We are honored to serve this town every single day.

And if you’ve ever thought about giving back… we currently have open volunteer spots. There’s no better way to show love for your community than stepping up to serve it.

From our EMS family to yours, stay safe, stay healthy, and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. ❀️
