Congratulations to Justin Rethorst and Scott Kratzer for being 2025 recipients of the NSIAAA Outstanding Service Award (Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association). Both Justin and Scott have earned the respect of Athletic Administrators in their area and across Nebraska.

Justin Rethorst has served as an Athletic Trainer for New West Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery in Kearney, Nebraska since 2008. He currently provides athletic training services in the form of weekly visits and event coverage for 9 school districts throughout Central and Western Nebraska. He assists Dr. Nolan May in weekly team physician visits to UNK, Kearney Catholic High School, and Kearney High School. In addition, he additionally provides clinical duties for Dr. May and Dr. Heber Crockett. He has assisted in the organization and coordination of medical services for the NSAA State Boys Dual Wrestling Championships in Kearney since its inception in 2013. He has volunteered athletic training services for several NSAA State Championships through the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers Association.

Scott Kratzer M.S, A.T.C., C.S.C.S.
Scott Kratzer is currently serving in his 28th year as an Athletic Trainer for New West Sports Medicine in Kearney Nebraska. He currently provides athletic training services to 10 central and western Nebraska schools. For the past 14 years he has also served as Outreach Coordinator, overseeing 6 Athletic Trainers providing athletic training services for 51 high schools. He also supervises athletic trainer clinical coverage for Dr. Nolan May and Dr. Heber Crockett. Scott received the 2024 George F. Sullivan Athletic Trainer of the Year Award from the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers Association.
