Evergreen has taken an intentional break from social media while we prepare for a big exciting step, BUT I had to take a break to share the best little Valentine I got in the mail today.

Two thoughts on this:

#1 - If you're a business owner in the Kearney, MO area and not a member of our Kearney Chamber of Commerce, please change that. It will be a great decision.We could all use a little extra cheering.

#2 - To my patients (current, past, future). THIS message. THIS is what we do. Working with a dietitian is a methodical process that doesn't come with diet culture's quick fixes. There will absolutely be days when you feel like what you're doing isn't enough. BUT, Evergreen is here to cheer you on and help navigate those small steps that add up over time.

Dear Evergreen Yoga Community,

I wanted to share an important update as we enter the final weeks of the year. Like many things in life, businesses move through seasons, and it has been an honor to host our Kearney yogis since May in our new and evolving space. I’m incredibly grateful to serve this community as a small, local business owner.

As we move into the winter season, Evergreen will be refocusing on its nutrition roots to continue fulfilling our mission:

Helping people build personalized, sustainable nutrition and lifestyle habits that support long-term health, chronic disease prevention, and wellness—on their terms.
With this mission in mind, and to stay aligned with our values, the decision has been made to refine our offerings and concentrate our resources solely on nutrition-focused services for the foreseeable future. As part of this decision, Evergreen will be suspending its yoga offerings until further notice.

We deeply appreciate the time, energy, and presence each student has brought to our space. Our final class will be held on Wednesday, December 17th. Class pass sales have been paused to ensure all remaining credits can be used before that date.

Thank you for being part of the Evergreen community. We will keep you updated on future offerings.

Kennedi, our Nutrition Intern, has a very important announcement!

We’re kicking off our Scans for Cans campaign this Saturday from 7 AM – 12 PM at the Kearney Community Market — where you can give back and gain insight into your health at the same time.

Our goal?
To help 100 people assess their health in exchange for 100 bags of non-perishable food for the Kearney Food Pantry — ensuring every resident has access to nourishing meals this summer.

What’s in a “scan,” you ask?
We’re bringing our high-quality InBody Body Composition Analyzer to the market, offering:

Body fat %, muscle mass, fluid balance, and more

Blood pressure checks

Diabetes risk assessments

Evergreen is growing!

I first met Kennedi volunteering at Kearney High through their client-connected project program. She and her classmates developed a plan to bring metabolic testing to Evergreen Health and Wellness — and now it’s here!

Kennedi’s commitment to excellence in everything she does makes me feel truly blessed to have her partnering with me this summer as our nutrition intern.

She’ll be helping spread the word about our new location and expanded nutrition and wellness offerings, including metabolic testing, body composition analysis, and yoga!

I’m Johannah, a local dietitian passionate about helping people build healthy, balanced lives. One big piece of that is managing stress and staying active. That’s why I want to raise awareness about Connected Families Counseling’s new Walk and Talk Therapy—therapy sessions combined with walking. It’s a great way to support your mental health while moving your body, right here in Kearney with skilled therapists.

🌿 Let’s Take Therapy Outside 🌿
Did you know that therapy doesn’t have to happen on a couch?

At Connected Families Counseling, Brittany offers Walk-and-Talk Therapy for kids (ages 5+), teens, and young adults. Sometimes it looks like walking side-by-side through nature, other times it's sitting outside, tossing a ball back and forth, or simply breathing in fresh air while working through emotions.

🌱 Why it works:

- Nature provides a calming, nonjudgmental space

- Movement helps ease nervous energy and anxiety

- Walking is a form of bilateral stimulation, which can help the brain process emotions and trauma more effectively (similar to EMDR techniques)
