Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is the leading cause of infant hospitalization in the United States. Given during pregnancy, the maternal RSV vaccine provides protection for your baby from birth through their first six months of life. Watch this video to learn more: https://bit.ly/41tEb0u

If you have questions about vaccines during pregnancy, schedule an appointment with DeAnn by calling 308-865-2740.

Did you know? A simple test in your third trimester can protect your baby during labor!
It's called the Group B Strep (GBS) test. This common bacteria is usually harmless, but if you have it while pregnant, it could be passed to your baby.

That’s why doctors recommend a quick swab test between weeks 36-38. If you test positive, you’ll get antibiotics during labor to reduce any risk. It’s an easy way to ensure a safer birth for your little one!

One in five people who suffer from a hip fracture will end up in a nursing home within one year. Women stop storing calcium in their late 20s and our peak bone mass is reached at age 30.

To help prevent osteoporosis, start taking a daily combined calcium and vitamin D supplement. Also, engage in at least 30-60 mins of cardio most days of the week combined with strength or resistance training 2-3x/week. This helps to maintain muscle mass which protects our bones.

If you have questions about osteoporosis or how to evaluate your bone health, schedule an appointment with Bobbi by calling 308-865-2740.

Preeclampsia is a type of high blood pressure that some people get during pregnancy. This condition can happen after the 20th week of pregnancy. In some cases, it can happen in the 6 weeks after giving birth.

Signs and symptoms of preeclampsia include blurry vision, persistent swelling in your hands and face, severe headaches or belly pain. You should call your provider if you have any of these symptoms.

If preeclampsia is not treated, it can cause serious problems, such as preterm birth and even death; although most pregnant people who have preeclampsia have healthy babies.

You can have preeclampsia and not know it, so go to all of your prenatal care visits, even if you’re feeling fine.

If you have questions about preeclampsia or are due for an exam, call to schedule with DeAnn today!

The human papillomavirus, or HPV, is a very common viral infection that is spread through skin to skin contact, especially s*xual in*******se. The virus is most common among people in their late teens and early 20s, although it can occur at any age. High-risk strains of HPV are present in more than 99% of cervical cancer cases.

You can help decrease your risk of contracting HPV by practicing safe s*x (condom use) and getting the HPV vaccine. You can get the vaccine from age 9 to 45. The vaccine protects you from several high risk HPV types that cause most cervical cancers, ge***al warts and a**l cancers.
If you have questions about HPV, pap smears, or are due for an exam, call to schedule an appointment with Michelle today!

If you are thinking about trying to conceive, start on a prenatal vitamin 1-2 months prior. Prenatal vitamins contain folic acid and you need to build this level up in your system prior to conception to reduce the risk of neural tube defects.

If you have questions about trying to conceive or are due for an exam, call to schedule with Bobbi today!
