Today, we are asking our incredible New Jersey community to rally behind someone very dear to us.

The sister of one of our staff members was recently in a severe car accident, resulting in the loss of her leg.

The financial burden of her medical bills is immense.
We want to surround her family with love and relief so they can focus entirely on her healing.

How you can support:

Donate: Click the link in our bio to contribute to her GoFundMe.

Share: Share this post to your stories to help us spread the word.

Thank you for always being a community that cares.

Is charcoal toothpaste actually safe?

It looks cool in photos, but your enamel might disagree. While charcoal toothpaste is trending for its “whitening” claims, here is the reality:

It’s too abrasive: Charcoal acts like sandpaper on your teeth. It might remove surface stains, but it can also wear down your enamel, making your teeth look more yellow over time as the inner layer shows through.

It doesn’t have fluoride: Most charcoal pastes lack the ingredients needed to actually strengthen your teeth and prevent cavities.

Stick to professional-grade whitening or ADA-approved pastes to keep your smile bright and safe.

We would never tell you to give up your morning brew, but we can help you keep the stains away. If you love your coffee or tea, try these hacks

1. The Water Chase: Take a sip of water after your coffee to rinse away acids and pigments.

2. Timing is Everything: Try to finish your coffee in one sitting rather than sipping it all morning. This gives your saliva a chance to neutralize the acid.

3. The Straw Trick: If you’re drinking iced coffee, using a straw helps keep the liquid away from your front teeth.

Is Sparkling Water Ruining Your Smile?

We love a crisp, refreshing seltzer as much as anyone, but here is the fizzy truth:
carbonation naturally makes water acidic.

While it is miles better for you than sugary sodas, sipping on sparkling water all day can slowly soften and wear down your protective tooth enamel.

Tips to save your enamel:
* Drink it alongside meals instead of sipping it constantly throughout the day.
* Use a straw to minimize contact with your teeth.
* Rinse your mouth with regular tap water afterward to neutralize the acid!

Why Do My Gums Bleed?

Gums rarely bleed because you are flossing; they bleed because of a lack of consistent flossing.

When plaque is left sitting between your teeth, it irritates the gums, causing early gingivitis (inflammation).

The cure? Keep flossing gently. The bleeding should stop within a week or two as your gums get healthier.

Does Coconut Oil Pulling Actually Work?

Swishing oil can help reduce the number of harmful bacteria in your mouth, which is great. However, it absolutely does not remove plaque or tartar, and it definitely cannot replace daily brushing, flossing, or the cavity protection you get from fluoride.

Think of it as a fun bonus to your routine, not the main event.

Is Charcoal Toothpaste Safe?

Activated charcoal is highly abrasive. While it might scrub off surface stains initially, using it regularly can actually wear down your protective enamel.

Once that enamel thins out, the yellow layer underneath (called dentin) starts to show through, actually making your teeth look more yellow in the long run.
