“Should I just come in for dry needling, or take the plantar fasciitis course?”

I hear this question a lot, and here’s my honest answer:

Lately, I’ve been spending time with Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton, and it’s been a huge encouragement.

The shift in seasons always brings a breath of fresh air, but fall hits different.

The cooler temps and changing leaves? My absolute favorite. There's something about crisp mornings and golden afternoons that makes everything feel a bit more grounded and present.

It even reminds me to slow down in my work: to take deep breaths, pay attention, and enjoy the process of healing and growth.

Taking advantage of summer vacation to do more deep breathing can be a game-changer for your pelvic floor.

Here’s why: the muscles of the pelvic floor are affected by emotions. If you’re relaxing on vacation, you’re more likely to have better pelvic floor mobility and blood flow. That makes the tissues happy and healthy.

At Renewal PT, we talk a lot about breathing because breathing is how you mobilize the pelvic floor. But it’s also how you mobilize the rib cage, and if the rib cage is stiff, the respiratory diaphragm won’t move well.

That affects most of your movement mechanics during the day.

So while you’re taking a break this summer, don’t just rest, breathe. Your pelvic floor will thank you.

Do 5–10 minutes of slow, deep breathing first thing when you wake up.

Why? It loosens up the rib cage and gets everything ready to move before you even roll out of bed.

Most people skip this because it seems too simple to matter, but it’s one of the easiest ways to set your body up for better movement all day.

If your treatment or home program doesn’t include consistent strength training for at least 1-2 months, you’re not going to get a permanent fix.
