Worried about allowing your child to eat extra sweets?! No need to worry!

Kids are great intuitive eaters. Allowing them to self-regulate will help them to identify their own satiety cues and benefits their eating habits overall.

While, creating scarcity around their candy haul can create more obsessive behaviors around sweets.

Enjoy Halloween with your littles!

As a NICU dietitian, NICU babies and families have a special place in my ❤️

I've been a practicing NICU dietitian over the last 8 years.

Recently, I hung up this hat to take on the next chapter in my nutrition career, but these babies will forever be a part of my journey, and I, theirs.

The struggles endured in the NICU by the babies, their families, and healthcare professionals that work closely with them create a bond that's hard to break.

The journey from birth to discharge home is sometimes a short stay, but it can also last well over a year.

The 3 things that the babies have to do are breathe, eat/grow, and maintain their body temperature.

These descriptions vaguely scratch the surface of the medical complexity involved and the emotional impact on everyone involved, but I LOVE to share a little glimpse into the NICU world...from my perspective, of course. ❤️

All the meals ahead....breakfasts, school lunches, snacks, dinners...oh my!!!!!

Sundays have always come with a lot of pressure to get as much prepared for the week as possible.

It's a huge mental load.

I'm here to say it's totally normal to feel this way. I feel it, too, even as a dietitian.

And don't worry if everything doesn't go as planned. There's always take out.... and you're doing great!!!! 🤗

Have you tried these pressure-free approaches yet?!

These are great ways to expose your kids to new food without the expectation to eat.

This keeps food associations positive and avoids those mealtime meltdowns.

My kids actually love helping to choose our produce, and it's a great opportunity to teach them about food!

Don't forget to follow along for effective picky eating solutions 🤗
