Robert F. Lynch Jr.

Robert F. Lynch Jr. ("Bob" "Bobby" "Uncle Bobo"), a lifelong resident of the Keene area, was called home, to be with our Lord, on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was surrounded by the love of his family and covered with prayers from his entire community of friends. He was born, in Keene, on July 24, 1969, to the late Robert F. Lynch Sr. and the late Barbara M. (Poland) Lynch, completing their family.

Bob grew up in Sullivan and was a friend to all who knew him. He attended Monadnock Regional High School. Despite his health issues, primarily chronic kidney disease, Bob carried a resilience and determination that helped strengthen those he encountered. Through it all he managed to leave behind a wealth of memories that his family and friends will cherish and share for many years to come.

In January 1999, Bob married Saundra (Ferrell), and together they built a life filled with shared interests and community involvement. They enjoyed playing pool and were very active in the area, winning their way to Las Vegas in various championships. Bob had a big soft spot in his heart for their many Pug dogs that they had through the years.

In 1977, while at Boston Children's Hospital, Bobby met Reggie Jackson, who was playing for the New York Yankees. Reggie signed his cast, prayed for him, and said, "I am going to hit a home run for you tomorrow." He did just that-several times that day. This became a highlight of Bob's life, and he remained an avid Yankees fan.

In the early 1980s, Bob owned and operated "Bob's Baseball Card Shop" on Central Square in Keene, He also sponsored Bob's Baseball Team and enjoyed his time playing ball with his teammates. He later worked in several convenience stores before opening Hidden Treasures in Swanzey NH with his wife. In more recent years, Bob enjoyed working as a delivery driver in the area.

Bob is survived by his wife, Saundra; of Keene NH his sisters, Linda Hitchcock of Alstead NH and Kelly Trudelle of Washington NH , their husbands, Jeremy Hitchcock and Mark Trudelle; his partner, Jennifer Lawton; his mother in-law Wanda Sherman and his five nephews, Rick Bilodeau, with whom he had grown particularly close, spending many hours together in the last year, Shane Bilodeau, Kurt Trudelle, Jacob Hitchcock, and Michael Hitchcock. Among his many friends, he was especially close to Shawn Maguire and Larry Bonner. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his humor and loyalty will never be forgotten. Fly high little brother

Ira Charles Gavrin

Ira Charles Gavrin, 87, a resident of Marlborough, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026. In the last years of his life Ira lived with challenging end-stage Parkinson's disease, which he faced with dignity and courage before he died peacefully in his home cared for lovingly by family and friends.

Ira was born on September 4, 1938, in Port Chester, NY, son of the late Tena (Press) and Arthur Gavrin. He was educated locally in New Rochelle, NY, graduating high school from Tabor Academy (MA). He went on to graduate from Colgate University (NY). In 1961, Ira served in the United States Army, stationed in Korea, where he wrote for Stars and Stripes and served nightwatch duty in the DMZ. After his service, he spent time in Thailand, writing for a Bankgkok newspaper and later teaching English as a second language in a school for children of foreign dignitaries.

When he returned to the states, he wrote for local papers in New Rochelle, where he met his first wife, Claire Sylvia. They later separated and divorced but remained lifelong friends and loving co-parents to their daughter, Amara. While living on the South Shore of Boston, Ira developed his photography career with a special interest in nature photography. His photos have been on display all over New England and have received several awards and positive reviews.

In 1974, Ira met Ginnie Goulet. For fifty years, they were beloved and devoted partners. On September 13, 1980, they married in Sharon, NH, and in 1983 they welcomed their son, Taran, into their family. In 1987, the Colonial Theater in Keene closed with an uncertain future in front of the landmark building on Main Street. Along with two other partners, Ira purchased the building, with the creative intention of bringing back live entertainment to the Monadnock area. A thrust stage was built out into the audience so they could maintain the theater as dual purpose -- movies alternating with live performers. For several years they brought name talent to Keene and filled the 800 seats for Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King, and Emmy Lous Harris, among others. In the 90's, they sold the theater to a non-profit organization. Today, the theater remains a rich venue for exciting arts and entertainment for the community.

For many years, Ira served as head of the Conservation Commission in Marlborough where he undertook several projects concerning local issues that dealt with protecting the town's ecosystem for future generations. He was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and hiker. His photographs reflect his love of the natural world, including large vistas as well as subtle manifestations of nature's designs.

Ira was a generous friend who loved to support others' creativity and expression. Above all, Ira cherished his family, delighting in sharing fun facts and making memories-especially while digging up potatoes and carrots with grandsons, nieces, and nephews.

Ira is survived by his wife, Ginnie Gavrin, of Marlborough, children, Amara and her husband, Dan Cohen of Massachusetts, Taran and his wife, Lauren Gavrin of Massachusetts, his brother, David and his wife, Nancy Gavrin of New York, his cousin Richard Kahane and his wife, Karen Kahane of Oregon. He is also survived by his grandsons, Zack and Andrew Cohen, and Baker Gavrin, along with many dearly loved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Ira was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Robert Gavrin and Robert's wife Anita.

A memorial service is being planned for late spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to support a memorial project honoring Ira's work on the Marlborough Conservation Commission. Make checks out to: Marjorie Shephardson and include: "In memory of Ira Gavrin" on the memo line. Or donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation.

All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home, Chapel, and Crematories. www.cheshirefamilyfh.com.

Born on March 23, 1929, in Jackson Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, to John and Esther (Wagner) Miller, Mr. Miller grew up in New Berlin. Summers spent at Camp Tecumseh on Lake Winnipesaukee fostered his lifelong love of New Hampshire's lakes and mountains.

He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in industrial engineering and served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he joined Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y., where he met Sally Dunn, who became his beloved wife of 69 years. The couple settled in New Hampshire in 1961, first in Nashua, where Mr. Miller worked as a manufacturing engineer for the J.F. McElwain Shoe Company, and later in Keene, where he joined Markem Corporation as a manager. He retired after 32 years with the company.

Mr. Miller gave generously of his time to civic and faith organizations. He served on the Boy Scouts troop committee, appeared in several Lions Club shows, and held leadership roles with the Salvation Army, including treasurer and board member. At the United Church of Christ, he chaired the finance committee and served as treasurer.

He was predeceased by his seven siblings and by his beloved daughter, Ainsley (Miller) Aldrich. He is survived by his wife, Sally; his children, Chris Miller and Stacy Miller; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His life was marked by a commitment to service, a love of the outdoors and devotion to his family-a legacy that will be deeply cherished by all who knew him.

Theodore H. Moe Jr.

Theodore H. "Ted" Moe, Jr., 91, died peacefully on March 20, 2026, in his home at Langdon Place of Keene. He was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in South St Paul, Minnesota, and moved to Keene in 1939 with his parents and sister. Ted graduated from Keene High School and then served in the Air Force as an MP.

In 1962, Ted married the love of his life Bonnie (Dargie) and they had two daughters, Jennifer (Moe) White of Keene, and Carolyn "Lindy" (Moe) Paris, of Marlborough. Ted and Bonnie lived in East Swanzey for 40 years, where Ted was Postmaster and also served as selectman. He retired in 1997 having worked for the Postal Service for over 30 years, after overseeing the establishment of the newly expanded Post Office in Swanzey Center.

Ted was a clever handyman and wood worker. He loved the outdoors and tinkering with his various antique cars. He and Bonnie enjoyed going to car shows with their "car crew" which often included picnics. They also traveled to various locales, from Disney World to Alaska to Italy, cruising in the Caribbean, and the Grand Canyon. Later, they went on a dream road trip across the country that included Yellowstone Park. On nice summer days, they were known to drive off in their 1971 cutlass convertible to Perkins Cove for an impromptu lunch at the ocean.

In 1984, Ted organized "Four Minutes for Peace" by writing to national and world leaders as well as to media outlets, which resulted in four minutes of silence dedicated to promoting world peace. Thousands of people around the world participated in this on 4/4/84.

Later in his life, his pride and joy were his grandchildren, with whom he shared many lovely memories. His favorite day each year was the annual family picnic to Vermont, when everyone would crowd into a rented van and picnic on the common in Weston- a forty-year tradition.

Ted is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Moe) White (Tom) of Keene, Carolyn "Lindy" (Moe) Paris (Luca) of Marlborough, and Shelly Chandler of Keene; his grandchildren, Robin and Connor White, Xander and Isabella Paris, Alyx Scott, Jena Rutter and Derrick Boucher; his niece, Nancyann (Dennis) Walsh of Attleboro, MA; and several great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Bonnie, and sister, Nancy.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 12:30PM at Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 44 Maple Ave, Keene.

In lieu of flowers, Ted asked that donations be made to Keene Community Kitchen or Hundred Nights Shelter in Keene, should one be so inclined.
