MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Relief with Dr. Sharon Theroux is coming up on March 3rd! Join for the Introductory Class from 6:30-8:00 pm! The Full Course of 8 weeks is March 10th - April 28th, 5:30-8:00pm.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week program based on the practice of mindfulness. The key to mindfulness is a non-judgmental awareness that enables you to respond with greater clarity, stability and understanding to life’s stressors, rather than reacting in unhealthy ways.

The program consists of eight weekly two and 1/2 hour classes, and a one-day silent retreat (on a weekend) between sessions six and seven. Participants who complete the course can enhance their ability to:

• Relax
• Reduce Anger
• Live in the moment
• Cope with chronic pain
• Focus and concentrate
• Live in the moment
• Find balance, clarity and stability
• Access inner resources of strength and wisdom

Forest Bathing with Michelle Maron, Certified Guide, ANFT on Feb 28th from 3:30 - 5:30 pm

Spend a beautiful winter afternoon discovering the forest through all of your senses - known as Forest Bathing. Join Michelle Maron a Certified Forest Bathing Therapy Guide as she takes you on a 2 hour Forest Bathing experience!

Forest bathing and forest therapy (or shinin-yoku) broadly means taking in, in all of one’s senses, the forest atmosphere. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest. It was developed in Japan during the 1980s, and in 1982 Japan made this form of mobile meditation under the canopy of living forests a part of its national health program. Researchers, primarily in Japan and South Korea, have established a growing body of scientific literature on the diverse health benefits of Forest Bathing.

Dress for the weather as we will be in the forest the whole 2 hours.
