Last but not least, meet Cydney—

Cydney has experience as a behavior technician, working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities. She also owns and operates her cleaning business, “All Spruced Up”. Cydney loves music, traveling, and spending time crafting and playing outside with her family. She is CPR/BLS certified.

We believe Cydney’s outgoing personality makes her a great fit for the Black River team, and we’re excited to welcome her wealth of knowledge.

Meet Daphnie-

Daphnie has experience working in daycares and youth centers, and since becoming a mother she has taken on the admirable role of homeschooling her boys. She loves to spend time with her family, spending time outside, and crochet. Daphnie is CPR/BLS certified.

We are excited to have Daphnie’s friendly energy in the gym- working as front desk/member support, as well as caring for our children!

Meet Trenity-

Trenity loves animals, being outside and spending time with her daughter. She has been a caregiver in group homes and assisted living facilities, and was a phlebotomist at our local hospital. Trenity is CPR/BLS certified.

We are confident in Tren’s ability to care for your children in a safe and supportive way, and we are so excited to have her on our team!

Meet Lacey-

Lacey is a mom of one and loves spending time with her family. She enjoys sewing, drawing, and crafting.

Lacey is CPR/BLS certified, and has plenty of experience in safety settings- with over 4 years experience working as a CNA and lifeguarding.

We are so excited to have such a kind, well rounded individual on our team!

Yesterday we signed our lease at Spur & Main, and today we officially closed on our loan!

We know it might feel like it’s been forever (or maybe you’re wondering, “What the heck have they been doing all this time?!”). The truth is, about 99% of the heavy brainwork happens before you can even apply for a loan. Behind the scenes, we’ve been buried in plans, permits, and what feels like a million pages of paperwork. But that’s the tedious part — and it’s DONE (for now lol).

Here’s the exciting part: In the next few weeks, we’re turning an empty warehouse into something epic. Think: new walls coming up, old spaces being elevated, and a transformation you’ll barely believe. (Notice all the hard work our landlords put in.. check back a few posts to see the progress.)

Stay tuned — we’ve got sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes tours, and maybe even a few surprises coming your way.

A big thank you to The Compass Coffeehouse in Nikiski for offering not only delicious drinks— but also a welcoming, child-friendly space. We were lucky to use this cozy spot to meet and interview so many kind, thoughtful candidates over the past two weeks.

The applicant pool has been full of incredible people, and it’s made our decision process both exciting and very difficult—in the best way! We’re taking this next week to make sure we select the right team members who will help keep your kids safe, cared for, and happy.

We can’t wait to introduce you to the new faces of Black River Fitness very soon!

Looking for a part-time job where you can bring your child with you? We’re currently hiring for Childcare + Support Staff positions with opportunities to work 7 days a week, with varying hours. Tentative start date in mid to late August.

Details:
• Must be 18+
• CPR/BLS preferred
• Child-friendly position — bring your little one
• Duties include kids’ check-in/out, supervision, light cleaning, and occasional front desk support
• Flexible shifts
• Free gym membership

This is where your new favorite place to train is taking shape. 🖤✨

These photos are mock-ups, but the space is real — a 2,400 sq ft warehouse with 14ft ceilings, tons of potential, and big plans ahead. We’ll be adding a brand-new front entrance, 400sq ft childcare room, and designing the interior with a moody cottagecore vibe to create a comfortable, welcoming space you’ll actually want to spend time in.

Grand opening this fall — and we’re excited to bring you behind the scenes every step of the way!

We wanted to share an update on our opening timeline for the sake of transparency.
I, (Trinity), may have been a bit too optimistic about our original opening schedule that I previously shared. We are now looking at an opening date of October 1st latest. I know this may be disappointing news to some, but rest assured, all is on the right path. Take a look at the rough (and more realistic) timeline below for details. We will keep you updated as boxes are checked. Good things take time!😜

We don’t want to be just another commercial and cold gym “daycare”. From the layout to the lighting, we’re creating a space that feels exciting, inviting, and genuinely different from the big-box gym experience.
