Carolina East Home Care & Hospice, Inc. a quality provider of Home Care & Hospice Services, has Full-time Home Care Nursing opportunities available in Home Health and Hospice for the Duplin and surrounding areas. Home Care Nursing is a perfect opportunity for the individual that has a passion and heart for Home Care and working directly with patients in their time of need in the home environment.

Position Duties:
Admission, assessment, case management, and treatment of the patients within the scope of practice of NC Board of Nursing in the patients place of residence under physician supervision.

Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license to practice as
an RN or LPN in North Carolina. 1-2 years nursing experience required, previous Hospice or Home Care experience is a plus. You must possess a valid NC driver’s license.

Kathleen Schweinsberg, RN, Director of Staff Development, and Amy Thigpen, Outreach Coordinator, provided Goshen Medical Center's first educational presentation on Medicare's new requirement for the Physician's Face-to-Face encounter at their Corporate meeting in Warsaw, NC, on July 8th. Spent lunch yesterday with the Duplin County Retired Teachers. What a nice group. We talked about hospice and what it has to offer patients and their families. We also discussed Advanced Directives/Living Wills. It was a great meeting with a lot of information shared. Thank you for inviting us to share with you.

Yesterday, May 20th, Duplin County Services to the Aged sponsored a Senior Fun Day at the Duplin Events Center. Carolina East Home Care and Hospice, Inc. supported them by holding the Cake Walk. More than 50 of Duplin County's senior citizens participated in the cake walk with more than 50 cakes given out. Many thanks go out to employees, volunteers, and Jackson's IGA-Kenansville, for donating, time, money and cakes to make Carolina East's part of Senior Fun Day a success.

We all have times in our lives when we just need someone to talk to. In order to help with this, Carolina East Home Care & Hospice, Inc. sponsors an Alzheimers Support Group on the 4th Tuesday of every month at Daysprings Assisted Living in Wallace, NC. The meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. The next meeting will be May 26, 2015. It is a perfect time for you to talk to others that are going through the same things you are. Please come and join us. On Friday Carolina East Home Care & Hospice, Inc. participated in the Senior Health Fair at Duplin Commons hosted by Duplin County Services to the Aged. Evelyn Merrill, CNA, took blood pressures and Tonya Edwards, Foundation Director, talked to everyone about their end of life care and decisions. It was a great time to get to know our seniors in the county. We can learn a lot from them.

Tim Lancaster, RN and Marketing Director, along with Tonya Edwards, Foundation Director did a great job.representing Carolina East Home Care and Hospice, Inc. at the "Teddy Bear Workshop" held by the Board of Education Health Science Academy at North Duplin Elementary School. This is the second year Carolina East has helped with this workshop. We had a wonderful time networking with several volunteers from the hospitals and surrounding businesses. Our great joy however, was working with those precious children that hold our future. We can't wait for next year!

Despite recent gains in public awareness of the need for advance care planning, studies indicate that most Americans have not made decisions about their healthcare in the event that they cannot speak for themselves.

The solution to this problem is National Healthcare Decisions Day(NHDD) which is April 16th. NHDD is a collaborative effort of national, state and community organizations committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity in the US have the information and opportunity to talk about and document their healthcare decisions.

Carolina East Home Care and Hospice will be hosting several events throughout the month of April and into May to help you with your healthcare decisions. We will be at each of the Senior Sites in the county and we are also in the process of planning events at churches in the county. Below are the dates we will be at each Senior Site all beginning at 11:15
April 16th - Kenansville
April 22nd - Wallace
April 29th - Faison
May 6th - Beulaville
