-Use a small, soft-bristled, child-friendly toothbrush.
-Under 3: a smear of fluoride toothpaste. Over 3: a pea-sized amount.
-Brush twice daily — morning and bedtime.
-Brush for 2 minutes to clean all areas.
-Support your child’s head by sitting them on your lap or standing behind them.
-Use small circles on teeth and gums; brush back-and-forth on chewing surfaces.
-Encourage spitting out toothpaste but don’t rinse, to keep fluoride working.
-Brush together to model good habits.
-Make brushing fun with songs, sounds, or a timer.
-Praise them and use sticker charts for motivation.
-Help your child brush until age 7–8.
-Never leave them unattended with a toothbrush or let them eat toothpaste.
