Our Family Caring for Your Family

In March of 2006, Pat and Kathy Young purchased the Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home in Kendallville and the Hutchins Funeral Home in Wolcottville. At the recommendation of the Hutchins family, the name was changed to Young Family Funeral Home. Kathy began her career in funeral service with the Hutchins family in 1975.

Today, Young Family Funeral Home has the honor and distinction of being one of Indiana’s oldest continuing funeral homes, having been established in 1860. We have endeavored to bring to the citizens of this community the utmost in professional services…plus a sincere understanding of a family in their time of grief.

In August, 2017, Pat and Kathy purchased the Johnson Funeral Home in Hudson from Dale Johnson. They are excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Hudson-Ashley community and grateful to Mr. Johnson for seeking them out to purchase the business he operated for 33 years.

The Young’s daughter, Beth Young-Mosley, Wilson Hunt, and Michael Johnston are a vital part of the funeral home, along with part-time employees, Roger Arnold, Dennis Bruce, Pat Febles, Connie Leighty, Kevin Sabrosky, and Occy Perkins. Also see frequently helping the funeral home are the Young’s son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Stephanie Young; their son-in-law, Donald Mosley; and their six grandchildren, Leanne Young, Matthew Mosley, Mark Mosley, Carl Young, Michael Mosley, and Sarah Young.
