💙 New at The Speech Shed: Autism Caregiver Support Group 💙

I’m excited to share a new FREE monthly support group created for caregivers of autistic children — a space to connect, learn, and feel supported alongside others who understand the journey.

This group is open to all caregivers (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and more) and will be facilitated by a licensed pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

🗓 First meeting: Monday, February 9
⏰ 10:00 AM (1 hour)
📍 The Speech Shed

👤 Caregiver focused
⚠️ Limited to the first 10 caregivers

✨ This group will meet monthly on the 2nd Monday of each month at 10:00 AM.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲. 🥲

There were moments this week that made me tear up in sessions and moments filled with 𝙝𝙪𝙜𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙨. With some clients, I felt real connection for the first time....and that matters, because connection 𝙞𝙨 communication. For some, that connection takes time to build trust and to feel safe.

In one session, I watched a client use AAC independently for the very first time. When they realized they were understood, the light in their eyes said 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜. I have chills even typing this.

My word of the year is 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘, and I’m so grateful to be present for these moments and thankful for the trust families place in me 🤍

This Valentine’s Day, I’m inviting our community to help spread a little extra love to our Speech Shed kids through our 𝑨𝒅𝒐𝒑𝒕 𝒂 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 initiative.

I am looking for 18 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 to adopt a Valentine for one of our clients. Each Valentine includes a small, thoughtful gift ($10-$15) that will be collected and delivered by me—keeping all client information completely anonymous.

This is a sweet and simple way to give back and be recognized! Businesses who participate may opt for a Facebook shout-out or business feature as a thank-you for supporting our families.

• I’ll provide a simple guide with the child’s age and interests (& ideas) so choosing a Valentine is easy and stress-free.

We’re kicking off 2026 with something brand new, and I’m so excited to finally share it...

Our Mommy & Me class is officially launching in house! A class designed for babies ages 0–12 months and their caregivers to 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣, 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧.

Led by a licensed pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (and mom of 2!), this class focuses on early communication through connection, play, and simple strategies you can use at home.

• Parent education + time to ask questions

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from The Speech Shed 🎄✨

This year was a BIG one, and we’re closing it out feeling incredibly blessed. From past and current clients, to our community members and support system….thank you for being part of this journey.

Ending the year with the B E S T clients and families we could ever ask for truly feels like the greatest gift The Speech Shed could receive. 🥲 We’re so grateful for the trust you place in us, the relationships built, and the support that makes this small, family-owned business possible.

Here’s to counting our blessings and stepping into the new year with full hearts. May you be surrounded by those you love & soak in the cuddles, laughs, & hugs from your sweet children!

Our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House at The Speech Shed was so much more than a celebration, it was a reminder of the incredible 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 that has lifted this dream from the ground up.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude. To my family and friends who continue to show up, cheer me on, donate their time, and believe in this mission right alongside me…thank you. Your support is the backbone of this little shed with a big purpose. 💛

Thank you to the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce for such a meaningful ribbon cutting and for supporting small, local businesses like The Speech Shed.

A highlight of the night was seeing SO MANY of my grade school teachers from Kenedy ISD. Getting to talk, laugh, and catch up (for the first time in nearly 20 years for some) was incredibly special!! Thank you for shaping me then and still cheering me on now. 🥹

To the Kenedy High School student volunteers...you were absolute 𝑴𝑽𝑷𝒔! Thank you for helping serve, keeping therapy rooms tidy while the kiddos explored, and staying late to clean. 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥! (& I can’t forget the Kenedy ISD school nurse, Sandy, for also stepping in to help!)
