New Jersey built a system to support young people before crisis, and now it’s at risk.
For decades, Prevention Links has worked alongside schools to provide prevention programming, mental health workshops, and support to students and families who might not otherwise have access. In recent years, that work expanded in a major way, reaching more than 37,000 community members and supporting students across the state.
Now, Governor Mikie Sherrill’s proposed FY27 budget would cut 80% of our in-school prevention funding. If it passes as drafted, most of this expanded work ends on July 1.
The need hasn’t gone anywhere. Schools are still asking for support, families are still relying on these services, and students still need prevention.
That’s why we’re launching this campaign to keep this work going through the 2026–27 school year. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to sustain core prevention and mental health programming in schools across New Jersey.
Every dollar goes directly to students, teachers, and families. Every dollar helps keep prevention in place.
