To say that I despise the US Medical System would be the biggest understatement of the 21st century. Knowing that paying my monthly premiums does nothing to get the care I need because 3rd parties like Evicore exist only to deny claims. I give my patients super bills for their insurance to reimburse them for care rendered by me. I'm currently receiving notices from one particular insurance company that is withholding their reimbursement to my patient because I am not (nor am I obligated as a cash-based provider) in an insurance network. This article highlights the absolute BS around authorizations for care. I hope you read it, but would not blame you given the current chaos in the world.

When companies like Aetna or UnitedHealthcare want to rein in costs, they turn to EviCore, whose business model depends on turning down payments for care recommended by doctors for their patients.

I realized that there are so many questions and symptoms around peri and post menopause that are left unanswered and patients suffer in silence. I created a list of questions for patients to ask their providers that have a lot more direct control over how to manage these and I hope you find them helpful, too.
