Today marks the final day in National Hispanic Heritage Month (Mes nacional de la herencia hispana)! This annual celebration is observed from September 15 to October 15 in recognition of the contributions and influence of Hispanic culture to our country's achievements, culture, and history.

In recognition of this tradition, join us as we look back on those who made an incredible impact on medicine today. From the first Hispanic American to win the Nobel Prize in medicine to the first Hispanic president of the American Public Health Association, these pioneers broke down barriers and dedicated to their lives to making healthcare more accessible to those who need it most.
