You’re child is in an explosive meltdown. 😫

Once you’ve calmed yourself and feeling more grounded (see previous post), your child needs to know they’re not alone with their big feelings.

That doesn’t mean agreeing with the behavior — it means letting them feel your calm presence. It means letting them know that even these feelings are valid and welcome.

Eye contact. Gentle words. Sitting nearby.

This connection says: “I’m here. I see you. You’re safe.” And safety is what turns their brain back on for cooperation.

When you’re calm and your child feels connected, something shifts — now they can actually hear you. This is co-regulation, and it is necessary before you can get into guidance, problem-solving, and setting boundaries.

Ever noticed how just being there (without words) sometimes helps more than talking?

Most people who get the MMR vaccine have no or only mild side effects. Measles, on the other hand, can lead to hospitalization, lung infection, brain swelling, and death.

Vaccination prevents measles.

Babies’ bodies respond well to vaccines because their immune systems are in constant learning mode. A baby’s immune system is ready for the hepatitis B vaccine as soon as they are born, and giving newborns the first dose of the vaccine within 24 hours of birth (with additional doses at 1-2 months and 6-18 months) remains the best protection against serious health problems like liver disease and cancer.

A lot of folks lately are trying to discredit my expertise, so I will introduce myself.

Hi! My name is Dr. Zachary Rubin. I earned a medical degree at Case Western Reserve University, completed general pediatrics residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, allergy/immunology fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and am practicing in the suburbs of Chicago.

I am double board certified in pediatrics and allergy/immunology and can take care of all ages.

I am a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics , American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.

I have published as first author on papers related to food allergy and primary immunodeficiency diseases. I have given talk at national conferences and I have a book being published next February called “All About Allergies.”

I love teaching and hope to help people gain a better understanding of their health. What we know and what we don’t know. Nuance often gets lost on social media and I’ll do my best to provide more in depth information.

Tylenol does not cause autism.

The recent “Tylenol during pregnancy and autism” paper that’s being cited as proof isn’t proof at all.

Read today’s issue of ImmunoLogic:

In fact, the lead author, Baccarelli, had these exact claims tossed out of federal court in 2023 for having ZERO scientific merit when he was a paid “expert witness” in lawsuits against Tylenol manufacturers & Walmart.

So he decided to repackage it and get it published in a journal to give it the appearance of legitimacy.

Even though the strongest studies — sibling studies — show NO relationship between autism and Tylenol use during pregnancy. It’s a cherry-picked group of studies that weighs memory recall FAR more heavily than actual data.

THAT is the “study” the Trump administration is using as “proof” Tylenol causes autism. That is the paper they’re using to add warning labels to acetaminophen. That is the paper that Trump based his dangerous — and wrong — medical advice on.

This is ACTUALLY the lawsuit pipeline used by a group of physicians with zero toxicology or biochemistry expertise who brand themselves as “environmental exposure experts” and get academic positions under that heading.

• Get paid to testify as an “expert”
• Publish weak observational science under an academic title
• Use the paper to get credibility for court or policy

This is the exact tactic RFK Jr. has built his career on — turning civil litigation against “chemicals” into a pseudoscience pipeline.

Worse? Now it isn’t just lawyers and grifters—our federal health agencies are legitimizing it.

So as Trump, RFK Jr, and their MAHA allies are screaming about this “paper” as proof Tylenol causes autism, remember:

It’s courtroom testimony that was tossed out for being garbage in 2023, now dressed up for PubMed.

And who is harmed? All of us. The public put at risk by fear, confusion, bad science, and dangerous policy.
