“Imagine our human race is at the entrance of a long, dark tunnel, at the end of which is a little star. That’s hope. Isn’t it good sitting at the mouth of the tunnel, wishing that hope would come to us?”
– Jane Goodall, 1934-2025

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

The Jane Goodall Institute is incredibly grateful to all our supporters, partners, and friends, especially during this difficult time. To add a personal remembrance of Dr. Goodall and continue her legacy for future generations, please visit JaneGoodall.org/RememberingJane

A group from the Neptune corporate office spent an afternoon volunteering with Feeding South Florida, and helped sort 9,542 pounds of food, which will provide more than 8,000 meals for those in need.
September is Month, to raise awareness about food insecurity and mobilize communities to take action against hunger in the United States. Organizations like Feeding South Florida coordinate efforts to educate the public, encourage donations and volunteerism, and advocate for policy changes to address the root causes of hunger and poverty. We're so honored to be part of this effort.

"I've spent most of my life just focused on the road ahead, not looking back," Redford said in the acceptance speech for his 2002 honorary Oscar. "But now tonight, I'm seeing in the rearview mirror that there is something I've not thought about much, called history."

Robert Redford has died at 89. He was known for his long career as an actor and director, with films like 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid', 'The Sting', 'All the President's Men' and 'Ordinary People'

🌏 The view from above, during that tragic moment frozen in time.

🕯 On this solemn day, we pause to honor the memory of all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and to stand with the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that tragedy.

At Celestis, we are reminded of the resilience of the human spirit... of our shared capacity for remembrance, unity, and hope.

🌇 May we never forget.

Neptune New Orleans Funeral Director Kelly Porte brought a “Springtime Sunshine and Cheer” basket to St. Joseph Hospice staff, and was joined by Funeral Director Shantell Sylve in bringing a “Spring Into Self-Care” basket to an overnight nurse with Foundations Hospice.

“Spring Into Self-Care” is the NOLA team’s current focus for hospice workers, coroner’s office employees, and other caregivers. We know winter is their busiest season, just as it is ours, so we hope this helps them to recharge and refresh as spring warms the city.
