On Monday, January 13th, 2025, we were honored to have Blake Schneider, the Director of the Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery (CYAAR), visit the Westminster campus to speak to students. This visit was part of Westminster School's annual special topics January Term Course, which aims to educate students about addiction and recovery.
During this event, Blake Schneider provided an in-depth presentation on the history of collegiate recovery, the operation of collegiate recovery communities, and the extensive resources available at Kennesaw State University. This unique curriculum and immersive experience are tailored specifically for high school students, making it a one-of-a-kind program in the metro Atlanta area.
Westminster students gained valuable insights into substance use trends among youth, collegiate recovery programs, and the comprehensive services offered by CYAAR. This event not only enhanced their understanding of addiction and recovery but also highlighted the importance of community support in fostering recovery.
We are proud to be part of such impactful initiatives and look forward to continuing our outreach efforts to educate and support our community.
