Big updates are on the horizon for CPT code 92507 — the go-to billing code for individual speech, language, voice, and auditory processing treatment.

The AMA and CMS have flagged 92507 for review after utilization surged over 100% between 2017 and 2022. The AMA's RUC has proposed replacing the single code with multiple new, more specific codes organized by treatment type (e.g., fluency, articulation, language, voice) and billed in time increments.

Here's what matters most right now: nothing has changed yet. Code 92507 remains valid for billing, and any updates would not take effect until January 1, 2027 — pending the release of the CY2027 Physician Fee Schedule. Final reimbursement values have also not yet been determined by CMS.

Morgan is one of our physical therapy assistants working for Appling Healthcare in Baxley, Georgia, one of our partnered facilities.

Morgan was born and raised in the Tallahassee, Florida area and received her degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from South University in Savannah. She loves working with the geriatric population, and we are so glad to have her on our team here at BenCura.
