What is Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy? 🌟

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT for short) is a non-invasive option for the treatment of various pains and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. ESWT has been used successfully in orthopaedic pain therapy since the beginning of the 1990s.

Many years of experience prove that certain pathological changes in tendons, ligaments, capsules, muscles and bones can be specifically eliminated with the help of this healing method. Frequently treated conditions include frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and heel pain (plantar fasciitis).

The shock waves used are short sound pulses that can pe*****te water and soft tissue. The shock waves are generated outside the body (»extracorporeally«) in the handpiece of the device and transmitted into the patient's body by means of ultrasound gel, where they have a targeted effect on the painful areas.

The modular design of the MODULITH® SLX-F2 allows the workstation to be tailored to specific system requirements. The lithotripter can be used with different X-ray systems to create an ergonomically optimized workstation. The »semi-stationary« concept can be combined with mobile C-arcs for localization. This semi-stationary arrangement of the workstation devices allows direct system access without having to readjust the system components. Since no installation measures are necessary, the workstation can be easily transferred to a different room.
