There’s a certain kind of pain that doesn’t come from the event itself, but from the silence that followed it.
No questions. No comfort. No one saying, “Are you okay?”

When no one names what you went through, it doesn’t just feel lonely- it can make you question whether it even counts.

But here’s the truth: Your nervous system doesn’t need a diagnosis to validate what it felt. It needed someone to notice. To stay. To witness.

Because trauma doesn’t just wound - it isolates. And when that kind of presence was missing, your system may still be searching for it.

Replaying the story. Rewriting the ending. Hoping someone will finally understand.

And here’s the beautiful thing neuroscience confirms: Being witnessed - truly seen and felt by another - can start to heal what disconnection created.

When someone stays present with your pain, your brain begins to come back online. Your nervous system softens. Your body stops bracing. Your story stops spinning in isolation.

Because what was broken in relationship must be mended in relationship.

That’s the power of someone saying: “I see what this did to you. And I’m not going anywhere.”

You deserved that then, and you still deserve it now.

Here's to the bridge-builders, the hand-holders, the light-bringers, those extraordinary souls wrapped in ordinary lives who quietly weave threads of humanity into an inhumane world.

They are the unsung heroes in a world at war with itself. They are the whisperers of hope that peace is possible.

Look for them in this present darkness. Light your candle with their flame. And then go.

Build bridges. Hold hands. Bring light to a dark and desperate world. Be the hero you are looking for. Peace is possible. It begins with us.

My practice...

I have been a counselor for over twenty years and I love what I do. Over the years, I have had the good fortune to work in a number of different treatment settings with many amazing clients and colleagues. During my career, I have learned a great deal of important lessons both personally and professionally. These lessons guide me in my work on a daily basis.

In my private practice, I strive to offer my clients a safe place where they can reflect and connect with their own intrinsic ability to heal and grow. I prefer to use approaches that respect the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting are two highly effective treatment approaches that can be utilized to address a number of different symptoms and conditions and can also aid in shifting behavior patterns and enhancing performance.

I am incredibly honored when a client chooses to partner with me to assist them in their healing process. I see this process as fluid and one that evolves over time in therapy. The willingness to be curious and more connected can lead to profound transformation. I believe having deeper access to our hearts and minds is one of the most important gifts we can give ourselves. It can also be quite an amazing, life changing adventure.
