Republicans for Harris have a simple question for folks considering voting for Trump again:

Why are we voting for rapists? Why are we voting for felons? Why are we voting for conspiracy theorists? Why are we voting for people who love dictators? Why are we voting for people who think they should pardon the January 6 criminals? And why are we voting for people who self-identify as doing awful things to women?

This conversation just took place on line at my local Chinese takeout:

Elderly man, speaking to nobody in particular: “If we elect Kamala Harris, that will be the end of our country.”

Woman #1: “Will you shut up? I’m trying to pick up my order.”

Woman #2: “ I’m voting for Kamala. If you don’t like it, you can leave the country.”

Man: “Yeah, well maybe I’ll move to China.”

Woman #2: “Of all places, you’d move to China?”

Me, chiming in: “Well, at least you’ll have a few months to pack your bags, because Trump is done. According to the polls, Kamala is going to win.”

Man: “But she’s a communist. That’s why I’m voting against her.”

Me: “And I’m voting against Trump because he’s a fascist.”

Man: “He took a bullet for his country.”

Woman #1: “You’re an idiot.”

Man: “Well, I guess I know how you’re all voting.”
