Sometimes sessions deviate from a plan and take their own paths. By being present we can have amazing results. ✨
One of my clients yesterday mentioned how high her stress levels had been as of late. She felt wound up, locked up, and tense all over.
At her last visit, I had noticed she held a great deal of tension in the deeper layers of her body and had recommended a hybrid session incorporating Thai Yoga Massage techniques to give her some deep pressure, so she came in with yoga pants and a comfy T-Shirt. We began the session with Craniosacral Therapy. I soon felt just how stressed out her nervous system was. I began at her feet, worked my way up, gently jostling and moving and coaxing tissue to let go. Starting at the lower half oftentimes feels safest to a frazzled mind. By the time I got to her neck, I knew exactly how to release tension around her Vagus Nerve (look it up, it’s fascinating 😍). It was almost a switch. She immediately dropped into a lovely Parasympathetic state.
Upon waking, she said she felt like she was floating and the most relaxed she had felt in a long time. The tension all over was gone and she felt like she could move again. All with gentle bodywork!
