Sunday is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Today is International Volunteer Day ( we celebrate our volunteers on National Volunteer Week in April) and we want to express how thankful we are for our volunteers who are the heart of our community. Thank you for the laughter you share, the hands you hold, and the time you give so generously. You brighten the days of our residents in ways words can’t fully capture. Thank you for donating your time and we appreciate you so much!

Behind the scenes of our Christmas pictures this week. Pictures will be posted soon! We really enjoyed this time with the residents. Today is National Cookie Day, we celebrated with cookie ice cream and a variety of other ice cream while watching 2000 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Also pictured is a Christmas gathering we had with staff on Bootheel Commons today. The nurse and one of the CNA’s on this unit picked each resident a few items from the shopping spree we held a couple weeks ago and wrapped them for the residents 🥰

We played double card bingo today. December is Bingo’s birthday month- invented in December 1929. Afterwards, we started the holiday off with Christmas cookie ice cream, with peppermint sprinkles, while we watched Miracle on 34th Street with a very young Natalie Wood, Maureen O’Hara and Edmund Gwenn!

Happy National Handwashing Awareness Week! A friendly reminder that clean hands help keep our whole community healthy. Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds helps prevent the spread of germs and protects both residents and staff. Thank you for doing your part to keep everyone safe and well.
Fun facts: today is Cyber Monday- great deals out, also December is the first month of the summer season in the South Hemisphere.

Today we had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with our residents. Thank you Elara Caring for bringing Lambert’s rolls (residents chose not to have them thrown to them 🤣) and helping serve everyone today! We also had sliders with turkey, Swiss cheese, cranberry sauce and stuffing on it, green beans, mandarin/ pineapple jello salad, and either pumpkin or pecan pie. We enjoyed Thanksgiving and Macy Day Parade trivia afterwards. While we ate , we reminisced while watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.
Today is the Great American Smokeout, a powerful reminder that every quit journey starts with a single step. November is also Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and together these observances highlight just how important lung health is. Whether you’re quitting, supporting someone who’s trying, or honoring those affected by lung cancer, today is about hope, strength, and second chances. You’re not alone—and every effort matters!
