Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri & VNA Hospice Southeast Missouri's First Home Health Provider since 1973. VNA of Southeast Missouri offers a variety of services to meet all of your health-care needs.

Some of our services include Hospice, Skilled and High Tech Nursing, Consumer-Directed Services, Homemaker/Chore and Personal Care, Medical Social Work, Home Health Aide, Private Duty Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. We also have a Senior Companion Program that reaches out to seniors and handicapped adults in their homes. Our service area covers several counties in Southeast Missouri including Cape Girardeau and Butler (Poplar Bluff area) and the entire "Bootheel" of Missouri. 10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(Isaiah 41:10)

We pretend not to fear, but it's a problem. It always has been. The Bible is chock full of encouragement to not fear. God knows that fear cripples us, so He reminds us constantly that He is our God. He is the antidote to fear, worry, and anxiety. Run into His arms today!

🙏 Worry

In 2 Corinthians 11 contains a little list of the things Paul faced during his years of following Jesus:

beaten times without numbers, often in danger of death. 5x I received from the Jews 40 lashes - 1. (39x5 = 195 whips across the same back). 3x beaten with rods. I was stoned almost to death once. I was shipwrecked 3x. Numerous times of being in danger. I have spent time hungry and i have spent time thirsty. The list is crazy and on top of that, the daily pressure of the churches that he started or supported.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:34 - "do not worry about tomorrow."

Theodore Cuyler said, "if Paul would have worried about tomorrow, he never would have made it."

Jesus was Paul's daily bread and it sustained Paul for the day and the challenges. Eat some "bread" today friends. Jesus is the only thing that truly satisfies.

4 Then Elijah walked for a whole day into the desert. He sat down under a bush and asked to die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he prayed. “Let me die. I am no better than my ancestors.” 5 Then he lay down under the tree and slept.

Suddenly an angel came to him and touched him. “Get up and eat,” the angel said. 6 Elijah saw near his head a loaf baked over coals and a jar of water, so he ate and drank. Then he went back to sleep.

7 Later the Lord’s angel came to him a second time. The angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat. If you don’t, the journey will be too hard for you.” 8 So Elijah got up and ate and drank. The food made him strong enough to walk for forty days and nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God. 9 There Elijah went into a cave and stayed all night.

If you want to read the full story you can read 1 Kings 19, but I wanted to focus this morning on the need for rest. We all need it. Few of us get enough, these days. I love that God gives us rest. He prioritizes it. We as humans try to get out of resting. We misinterpret Jesus saying He is Lord of the Sabbath to justify our neglect of rest. But God. He cares deeply about your rest. Embrace some rest and quiet time with God today!
