A lot of cervical, thoracic and shoulder tension can stem from a tense lower back and over worked hips ☝🏾

In this video we start with a nice warm towel to heat up the muscles and get them prepped for some “steam rollage“ 🤌🏾

In our previous videos, we talked about the importance of engaging our parasympathetic nervous system.

This way, we tap into that “rest and repair” mode which will signal the muscles to relax and allow us to work into the deeper layers of the fascia

Transference is a common theme in multiple types of therapy. This phenomenon is that if a therapist reminds his or her client of someone who has been a nurturing force in their life, there will be a strong connection, by association.

This may help the client feel a level of comfort and maybe even familiarity, which allows the therapeutic relationship to be a place to engage in deep healing work.

This may include tending to, repairing and healing relational struggles, working with unmet needs, or working on attachment wounds.

Being able to engage in this kind of work allows clients to improve their wellbeing and to maximize their therapy relationship.

Have you ever been getting a massage and then outta nowhere you get a sudden urge to itch your nose??....

Let’s talk about it ☝🏾

This sensation of an itchy nose is often caused by vasodilation; where increased 🩸 flow stimulates skin nerves, leading the brain to interpret this as itching

During massage, your 💪🏾 begin to relax and blood vessels expand to boost circulation, which can trigger surrounding nerve cells and cause sensations like tingling or itching 🤯

So the next time you’re getting Massage, and you are fighting the urge to itch your nose, high five your therapist and tell them, “Job well done” ✋

In this video, we are going to talk about the usual suspects, responsible for headaches, migraines, and cranial tension 😖

Please bear in mind while these techniques will provide some relief they most likely will not replace traditional massage therapy ‼️

The muscles we are focusing on in this video are the:

-Frontalis
-Masseter
-Temporalis
-Occipitals
*Sternocleidomastoid (SCM)

Applying mindful pressure to these muscles, both with and against the fibers will provide temporary relief until you can get in to see your therapist.

Remember, adequate fluids 💧 are going to help your muscle fibers expand and contract in a smoother fashion. Couple that hydration with consistent movement, and your massage treatment will carry you further while in between appointments
